ILLU Freiburg e.V. is a non-profit organisation based in Freiburg with a lively network of illustrators and creatives working in related presentation formats.
The association organises exhibitions, lectures, projects and, above all, the ILLU festival every two years.
ILLU is the Freiburg Festival for Illustration, launched in 2013 and most recently in its fourth edition in 2019.
In addition to the festival, there are events such as the Risoclub, which takes place quarterly at the Literaturhaus.
FREILab Freiburg e.V. is a non-profit organisation founded on 29 February 2016 that runs an open workshop in Freiburg. Members of the association can use the workshop's professional equipment to realise their own creative projects, repair objects and learn new skills. In addition to using the workshop as a creative space for soldering, sawing, sewing, printing, screwing and chatting, FREILab sees itself as an educational facility that offers space for seminars and training courses. CreativeMornings/Freiburg is part of the international CreativeMornings network with over 200 other cities around the world.
At the monthly events, creative people from and around Freiburg come together for breakfast to "look beyond the coffee cup" during a short impulse. The theme of each impulse is standardised internationally, but can be interpreted individually by the impulse givers. There will be the opportunity to network before and after the impulse. CreativeMornings/Freiburg is a free, open network without memberships.
