Pharmaceutical production in Freiburg

The Pfizer plant in the North Industrial Estate is one of the largest workplaces in Freiburg and is one of the most modern production facilities in the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. With the expansion of the plant in 2022 to include a fully automated high-containment production facility, the overall capacity of pharmaceutical production in Freiburg has been significantly increased once again: more than 6.7 billion tablets and capsules are manufactured here every year and distributed all over the world, including some vital and highly effective medicines for cancer, cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders. This is an important milestone for the site and its more than 2,000 employees, as well as a clear commitment to pharmaceutical production in Freiburg.
