The Haid industrial estate

Located in the south-west of the city, the modern, 210-hectare Haid industrial estate is ideally situated between two highway junctions (A5) and has direct access to public transport.

 

This area is characterized by a wide-ranging, largely medium-sized economic structure. The healthcare, solar and automotive industries are mainly represented. The area is also characterized by architecturally high-quality buildings and its proximity to the Rieselfeld residential area. The prestigious appearance is ideal for service companies.

 

Due to the high demand, the commercial area was extended by 10 hectares of net space to the south.

 

Industrial estate

The industrial estate covers a total area of approx. 200 hectares. Over the years, an interesting and wide-ranging industry structure has developed. International corporations, players in niche sectors and long-established family businesses work side by side. The picture is characterized by craft businesses and commercial enterprises as well as kitchen studios, medical practices, hotels and office buildings. However, medium-sized companies dominate, particularly in the service sector.

Three sectors are particularly noteworthy: The solar industry with companies such as Solar Fabrik AG, S.A.G Solarstrom AG, Soitec Solar GmbH and SI-Module GmbH. The automotive industry with companies such as ernst&könig GmbH, Mercedes Benz Niederlassung Freiburg, Peugeot Südbaden GmbH, Carglass GmbH, Südwest-Auto GmbH and Pneuhage Reifendienst on the "Automeile Haid", as well as the healthcare sector. The latter is represented in particular in the field of medical technology by Stryker Leibinger GmbH & Co KG, MSC Freiburg GmbH, Straumann GmbH and Thermo Fisher Scientific - Phadia GmbH.

Special features

The Haid is considered a prime example of a successful business park with a wide range of industries. Nowhere else in Freiburg are there so many service and production companies that positively shape the profile of Freiburg as a business location. In no other commercial area in Freiburg is it so clearly visible that commercial-use buildings and quality architecture are so compatible. There is a clear trend away from industrial buildings towards buildings in which employees feel comfortable. When developing the overall design concept, emphasis was also placed on an innovative energy concept in order to reduce emissions. In addition, the focus was on an open street layout and extensive greenery.

Transport links

The area is ideally located between the two highway junctions Freiburg-Süd and Freiburg-Mitte and can be reached from the A5 highway in just a few minutes via the B3 and B31. In addition, both the north-south connection and the east-west connection are guaranteed by the 4-lane Besanconallee and Matsuyamaallee respectively.

Thanks to streetcar line 3 and various bus lines, the area has a direct connection to local public transport and a fast connection to the city center.
