Not far from Freiburg city centre, there is a piece of living craftsmanship where the smell of fresh sourdough wafts into your nose and you can taste the passion for bread in every crumb: it is the Till & Brot bakery. It is the dream of Tillmann Gurka, who aims to offer his customers only the best. Whether it's selected breads or delicious confectionery - you'll find it all here without superfluous additives.

Till always wanted to start his own business. "It was very important for me to gain a foothold myself, because I wasn't just interested in the craftsmanship side, but also the business side of a company."
And the reality has exceeded his expectations. On the opening day, a queue of almost 20 metres formed in front of his bakery. A weight was lifted from his shoulders - his bakery was no longer a secret place, but a trendy spot in the city.

The support of the Freiburg Chamber of Industry and Crafts played a decisive role in the foundation of the company. It helped him from the first (legal) consultation, through the examination of the rental contracts, to the actual implementation. Without this support, the path to self-employment would certainly have been more difficult.

The range that Till offers today is varied and creative: baguettes, 100% rye bread, Saturday rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat and stone-milled bread are just a few of the delicacies that can be bought in his bakery. With all these products, one thing counts above all: quality, traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
